In America they are talking about a "high-speed internet" and a "regular-internet". Americans might have to pay to publish a page on the high-speed and also pay for access to a high-speed page.
Lot of discussion about the American idea. The phone companies are the main people that want it. Thank you VOIP.
I can see where they program the servers to time-out in time to prevent any search or navigation to the slow web-pages.
I can see where Germans might have to pay on top of what your monthly fee is going to be, just to see a high-speed web page.
If that's the case, the web is going to need ID of every person before visiting any web page.

Computers and even mobiles!! That is very sad news, as I'm guessing there is already VAT charged on your monthly ISP fee.
No I would not be prepared to pay such a fee and enough people willing to cancel their ADSL contracts should send a message to the right people.
I would love to know more about this can you post a link?

I would not be happy about this... all the current innovation and development of the internet is being done by private companies. I will not pay the government too!! They have contributed little to its development.
It's nice that everyone would get cheap access, but this pot of money would then be allocated to the various telecomms, hosting and software companies. I believe this would, ultimately, stifle development.

No way. I already have internet, although we pay about 1,200 of our currency every month to keep it going.
Wait a sec.... Is that what you werw talking about? Subscription fee? Cause I'd pay. A 300kbps will still be better than a card-powered 29kbps anyday.

No - mainly because I assume the government would get the money, and they have done nothing useful in regulating or improving the internet.

I think the fees should be handled by the internet provider.

I think that is very bad practice. We pay enough to the ISP for the privelege of useing the internet, I for one ould not pay to use it
