If you foundation is making your face itchy - it could mean one of two things. The makeup you're currently using is not the best it could be - or two, it could be that it's not the right formula for your skin. If your foundation is anything but water-based, swap it out for something more gentle. It should also be noncomedigenic - which means that it won't clog your pores (think Clinique). Another culprit for your itchy skin is that it could be dry. Remember that it doesn't have to look dry to be dry. Try using a light moisturizer and see where you get after you've checked some of this out.

Best of luck!

How long have you had your foundation for? Liquid foundation is usually good to consume up to 12 months after opening.

Otherwise, maybe it's not that your makeup has expired but you just bought something that doesn't suit your skintype or something with ingredients that you're allergic too. If your makeup makes you itchy, I suggest stop using it immediately and find a suitable replacement.

Good foundations are fragrance free, made from natural ingredients, enriched with vitamin E and proper sun protection. Here's a key:
-oily skin: use foundation with matte finish. key is oil/ shine control
-dry skin: use foundation with a dewy finish. key is moisturising/nourishing
-good skin: use foundation with light/transparent coverage
-problem skin: use foundation with medium/maximum coverage
The best foundation I know is Artistry (because I use that personally)--its ingredients come from Nutrilite's own certified organic farms where the company controls the quality of organic crops used to make the makeup from seed till serving, all at one hand. Artistry is also one of the top 5 brands of skincare & colour cosmetics along with Clinique, Estee Lauder, Lancome, and Chanel, but is comparatively much more affordable and often comes with personal service from someone who knows the product inside out and knows your skin and your needs too!

Go to www.quixtar.com to buy if you're in N. America. Products get delivered to your home within 2 business days (I think... at least that's how they do it in Europe, so it must be like that in America if not even faster). You can also request a Quixtar IBO in your area to contact you and give you complementary advice on Artistry products--they also have very good skincare products. If you're not in N. America, email me and I'll find out for you how you can get easily have access to the products.

Do you treat your skin before applying the foundation. such as using a toner and moisturizer. if you do all that and you still have itchy skin, then perhaps the foundation is indeed old.

possibly..but it could also mean that it contains ingredients that isn't suitable for your face. or you are using dirty make up tools like sponges, etc.. and here's a tip, moisturize before applying make up, this helps reduce the bacteria that might enter pores.

No, it contains BIsmuth. Stay away from products that contain Bismuth. Bare Escentuals is one of the products that is saturated with Bismuth. Change your makeup and look at the ingredient.

It means you're allergic. Stop it. If you don't need it then don't use it.
