How do you stay motivated? I'm having a terrible day - doing everything but working. Usually, I'm pretty good, though.

Hi Annie - best advice I can offer is to come up with a weekly or daily schedule and stick to it (like I'm not doing today) and don't forget to give yourself a proper lunchbreak etc. Also, if you're going to be self-employed get some advice from someone in the know about how to manage taxes etc. The more prepared you are the more successful you'll be. Good luck xxx

I do. I've been doing it for five years now. Working from home is a lot like working at an office. Sometimes you just need to take a sick day. We all have days when nothing seems to go right and no matter what you do it's not going to get better. Take the day off and go back to bed, read a book or watch a favorite movie. Then you'll have Saturday and Sunday to recouperate too and on Monday you'll be good to go.

I used to work at home. I don't now. I know it can be tough to get motivated. And sometimes you can take a mental health day .. just not too many of them.

I used to perk up after seeing people. So like go get a coffee or breakfast. Call a buddy, just don't take too much time. A 7 to 10 min rule works. Get involved with some organizations (tough it can be)

Sometimes if you work for a large corp .. go work at work 1 day a week.

Since you are twice as productive working from home, you're probably already well ahead. Some days are just like that. Don't beat yourself up. Your next good day will more than make up for today! Me, I just keep a long To Do list - there's usually SOMETHING on there I can bear to get on with. And if there isn't, I don't!

We have a successful home base business and we love it. We mad a DVD recording of what we had and who we owed the day we started. If we feel we need motivation we will play the dvd. Haven't had to yet. We have set time aside to spend with each other. Walking, golf whatever. Good luck.

It is really difficult sometimes. If you are being tempted to do other things, go out for a 10 minute walk, or set aside half an hour to get something to eat. If your work is a bit flexible like mine, maybe vary what work you are doing, start with something that doesn't require much brainpower and gradually work your way up.

by staying focused on your goals. Sure you are going to have off days, use those to strengthen your goal settings. If it is a new car or home your looking for, go find it, take your picture in it, stick it everywhere you will be to see it. That's focus.

I work from home and sometimes I miss the social interaction with colleagues.
As a rule my self-discipline pulls me through!
