See if the floppy is not write-protected (check the little switch on the corner of the floppy. If you can see through it, it is write protected, and can't be edited. If you can see the switch through the hole, it isn't, and it can be edited).
If it's not, and you still can't write to your file, try this :
Go into DOS, go to the floppy drive (by typing "a:" without the quotes), then type "attrib filename.ext -r" and replace filename.ext with the actual filename. Then type "exit". Then see if it won't work.
If not, the file is corrupted, and you'll have to start over from scratch.

If you look on the floppy disk there should be a black tab on the back that you can move up or down. make sure there is no hole. ie move the tab across the hole. your floppy disk should be write enabled and you should be able to write data to the disk.

I think there's a good chance you've got the protection switch in the locked position on the disk. Take disk out and move the switch across.

i think you definitely should know abt the lock mechanism in floppies by now :-)
it is most probably corrupted and need to be trashed.
but dude usb flash drives are available and cheap
ditch the floppies and hitch the USB flash drive
your data will definitely be safer
