I would definitely say hall of fame. A player can spend his rookie year on a team he does not contribute much to at all and win a ring, or he can be brought in at the last week of a season and win one. A hall of fame naming means you excelled throughout your entire career, and were one of the best there ever was, even if you never won a ring.

Hall of Fame. The ring will be forgotten in a few years but the hall is there forever.

Hall of Fame......

u can get a ring by sitting in the bench of a team who wins the world series

But the only way u get into the hall is if u have amazing numbers in the big leagues...

Hall of Fame...each player elected gets a ring that signifies their enshrinment into the Hall. Plus, the perks are much better if you are one of the best ever, rather than just a guy that might have been a 3rd teamer on a championship team.

I would rather have immortality in my sport, than a piece of jewelry.

Hall of fame- you can wear a ring now. That ring can be lost or stolen. The hall of fame will always be here. The ring is a stroke of luck. The hall of fame is a legendary career. I guess I'm selfish and would rather have the hall of fame.

Hall of Fame

Which group of names do you recognize more? Rohan Davey, Paul Justin & Bubby Brister or Dan Marino, Barry Sanders & Warren Moon? Carl Yastrzemski , Ted Williams & Ty Cobb or Pedro Borbon , Shawn Wooten & Dale Sveum? My point exactly. Anyone can get lucky and win a championship, but getting into the Hallf of Fame is much tougher. All those no names won championships but they are nothing compared to the accomplishmenst of these Hall of Famers who dont have a championship under their belts.

Hall of fame. It means your career has been above the ordinary and is worthy of the hall. To be in the company of the games greatest is probably the single highest award in the sport. It transcends championships.

I know you said one choice only, but it depends....

In baseball, I'd take the Hall of Fame, There's tons of guys who never play in the World Series... Plus Baseball is more about individual achievement and stats than team accomplishments... Sure there are guys like Reggie Jackson who will be remembered for what they did in the post- season, but I'd rather be remembered for my whole career.

Football and Basketball are different because they are more team oriented... There's always talk about so and so being the best quarterback never to win the superbowl (Dan Marino usually)... and then there are guys like Montana who are glorified for taking their team to so many superbowls... so in that setting I might pick the ring... Barkley and Malone are examples in the NBA of that... great individual talents that never won the big one. That's talked about more in Basketball and Football than in Baseball.
