We have lots of hatred, prejudices, discriminations on Yahoo! answers.
Have societies degenerated to such degree even in this postmodern age where knowledge abounds?
Can't we respect Americans, Africans, Asians, Middle East citizens, Arabs, Israelites for who they are?
Can't we respect Muslims, Christians, Jews, Buddhists, Hindus and practitioners of other religions?
Can't we stop killling one another with our words and our actions?
Is the life of one human being important?
Can we be more careful with our words on this forum?
Are we blinded and ignorant?

Unfortunately humans seemed to be threatened about what they don't know. How can we respect other people regardless of race or religion if we can't even respect ourselves. We have the knowledge to create a better world where there is no such discrimination, but we are too ignorant and self centred (as a whole of the human race) to actually do it. Thankyou for putting this question forward, if more people thought the same way, than having a world without discrimination would stand a chance.

I respect the wise and not the narrowminded. We all suffer from predjudism and anyone who says that they don't is a bare face liar. If you really ask yourself the question "Am I predjudice against anyone", you will find the anwser is yes. All be it a small predudice such as walking past a begger and asuming drink or drugs got them there or thinking that a well spoken person paid for thier education, or thinking a dislexic person is thick (just examples)

With such a melting pot of people such predujudices then of course there will be encountered. Is it not human nature to be fearful of other 'tribes' if you look at the animal kingdom bird will attack the same species if their song differs from theirs as each area will have different 'dialects' chimps only attack other chips when they invade their territory.

I understand your sentiment regarding this question and applaud it. I think that through knowledge less hatred and respect will arise. So to sort of anwser you question and sumise we knowledge might lead to wisdom but the true path must lead you through experience.

we were blinded by 911 not ignorance we don't as a country have enough money to see that the game you want is the game we can afford. why don't we use some of that wisdom and just resupply the border areas with the left over buses that were used to evacute new orleans=because we simply are not prepared to both have the economy stripped out of civilian life everytime we have to deal with terms that will eventually led to peace solution but for now it takes everything we got and all the armed wantabees in the world to fight off the drop in white race men that are no longer here because they died refusing to turn the other cheek. freedom isn't free

i agree we do tend to get very rude and insulting and hatefull here. i believe that the more ppl know the more arrogant they become. people become self richious and belive that their truths are the only 1s that are right. i also believe there is no such thing as the truth. it is what the individual belives. it is different 4 everybody and we should make more of an effort to respect other ppls truths.

And that is just a small part of the list. Sure let's not go on, on these trodden paths because if we know better we should do better and if we can't we are no better and know next to nothing really. Which could easily be the case!

I do stay optimistic nonetheless.

I think people are being educated to know more facts and figures nowadays, but they aren't being educated in how to get along socially and how to understand and accept people with different backgrounds than they have.

we have alot of wisdom because GOD give us..but as far as knowledge is concerned,it depends upon the interest of a person to know,to learn and to study about anything... and how to use the knowledge they have...

It seems the more knowledge we are bombarded with, the less we respect other people and views.

i totally agree with you...wisdom and knowledge are two different things but people often confuse them...we have the knowledge but no wisdom how to share them so we come across as uncaring, uncouth and downright annoying...
