Yes he did... and several others did after him.... the only reason we stopped going was because it was so expensive and people got bored with it... The final trip up there they even took a dune buggy (a billion dollar dune buggy) to ride around on the lunar surface...
The technology required to get to the moon is not that complex... Just expensive...
There is gravity on the moon... the swaying of the flag in a vacuum is caused by pendulum action... you don't need air for an object to sway...

Hello -
I watched several conspiracy theory shows on TV and they all made me wonder too. It wouldn't surprise me, if it was all make-believe. One has to see this in its historical context and with the Russians launching the Sputnik satellite I can see why in times of the Cold War the Americans needed a publicity victory to help morale. The photos from the landing are a little questionable, the flag and the light, the shadows all over the place, when you run the footage in a different speed the astronauts just walk normally, some stone formations appear several times, even though it was claimed photos were taken at different spots on the moon. Yep, one could become a little skeptical!
However, I also watched another pro-gramme where scientists say that Neil &Co left a little device on the moon which still sends signals to earth today, from the moon. Obviously they still monitor that in some remote lab in some desert... that of course would prove that someone or something dropped that at some point on the moon.
Also, I guess the whole Eastern block (Russians, etc) must have had their telescopes aimed at the moon. Doubt that they would have kept quiet if the Americans never landed.
The again, did you hear that NASA lost all the original footage of the moon landing??!!
Doubt the whole thing, but at same time hope it did happen!!

I don't know what the sources of the Conspiracy Theories are but I believe we did land men on the moon. I never heard anything doubting that we landed on the moon until about 10 years ago. With the intense race between Russia and the United States back in the 60's I am quite sure that the Russians had enough technology to follow our progress and blow the whistle on the US if we did not land on the moon. Russia even had un-manned ships going to the moon before we did. I think the Conspiracy Theories are a bunch of bunk. Kind of like the US blew up the World Trade Centers on our own - yeah, right!!

Yes I do. You see everything can be faked, but if I spent my whole life thinking negitively about everything. I hate life. I would rather think we reach the stars and filled a goal in are hearts. One everyone on earth wants to have filled. We did the unimagintable, saw the unbelieveible. In sort why take away the hope, happens and joy the moonlanding brought us?
That move you saw could have been fake just as easyly. Some people of the world live just to bring others down.

I have no reason to disbelieve it. About gravity - yes there is gravity on the moon, even though it is much less than on earth. One of the problems with these 'conspiracy' theories, is that they are based on the belief that the authorities are smart enough and powerful enough and united enough and loyal enough to eachother to be able to fool all the rest of us. I just don't believe that.

It has been calculated that approximately 400,000 engineers and scientists were involved in the landing a man on the moon, from the contractors, subcontractors of all the thousand of parts that made the space modules to the hundreds of NASA technicians. To think that all of them were in on the secret is bordering on lunacy...
Do you know how few people were involved in the Watergate and Enron cases...a handful, and the secret slipped out. To even think that our govt. is competent enough to pull off the largest scam in history is laughable.

Ok... let me give you one counter argument:
Was the whole world part of this conspiracy? You do realize this happened during the height of the Cold War. You think the Russians, Chinese, East Germans, etc. were all part of this giant cover up. You think the Russians wouldn't have been jumping up and down claiming fraud. Didn't they track the mission with their own radar and other technologies. Most of the points given in that program are invalid based on a moronic hypothesis!

I watched the same show and would have to agree with you. I don't really believe that Neil Armstrong landed on the moon.
Another reason for my believing this is that if they really did land on the moon, then why haven't they done it again. After all the level of technology available to us today is much greater than that of the 60s.

I can't believe how stupid and gullible some people are. Read a book or two and quit watching so much TV. I recommend for one, "First Man", Neil Armstrong's autobiography.
