I bought a new toaster and that one does the same thing.
I have tried to plug it in other receptacles also with no luck.
I think it's possesed.
Wht all the technology we have why can't they build something that toasts bread properly?
It's not the bagel setting either!
Please help my browning challenged toaster

One Sided Toaster

If it's only toasting one side of your bread, then it sounds like the heating elements on one side of the toaster slot aren't working. Since this is a new toaster, it appears that there was some sort of factory defect that happened when it produced. I call it "The Joy of Buying Our Crap From China". Fortunately for you, all you need to do is return it to the place you purchased it from and exchange it for another toaster.

Return your toaster. They heat with different circuits on each side and yours is broken on one side. Those coils must be very fragile because I see this all the time. They also wear out differently and you can start getting one sided toast. If you have room, a little toaster oven is better because you can also toast rolls, and the bagels really can fit without smooshing.

I do not know what country you are from but,I know in the US,We have polorized receptacles and polarized plugs. Some older houses still have the old receptacles in which, the plug can go in either way.Does your toaster have a bigger spade on one side of the plug?
I believe the problem lies there in the elect. You should get one of the plug-in testers (usually a big yellow plug, with 3 lights of ranging colors.) I think you have lost a nuetral somewhere in your electrical. You are getting "feed" power but not "return" power.

I have same problem. I have purchased 3 Cusinarts toasters they toast the inside fine, but the outside just barely toasts. I also purchase an Oster and it does the same thing. Perhaps becuase they only cost about $25-$29? I am looking for an answer also...

They don't make a good cheap toaster anymore, seems like the middle heater element does not heat up enough to glow. Toast only muffins & bagels, open to face the outer elements.

Is the side that isn't toasting even getting hot? Maybe you have a defective toater. Never heard of a normal functioning toaster doing that!

The element is burned out on the side that doesn't toast. It is cheaper to get a new toaster than to fix it.

I think its a conspiracy. Toasters never do what they are supposed to. You put it on 2 get 3 you put it on 1 get 4 you put it on 4 get 2 you put it on 3 get burnt. I'd stick with the one you got and just turn the darn bread around. Bloody toasters!

Probably either poltergeists or else the heating element doesn't work on one side. I hope you kept the receipt for the new one. Take it back. If it happens with the third toaster, you should move out of that house!
