Chinese (who knew about gunpowder early on) were using gunpowder propelled projectiles since 1132. They would use bamboo tubes.

The "gonne" or hand cannon was invented about 1300.

The Arquebus was the earliest hand held portable firearm and succeeded by the Musket.

Nobody knows for sure, but the Chinese invented gunpowder and Marco Polo brought it back to Europe, so shortly after that the gun was invented, or small cannon I think it be

I think no one knows the exact year of gun invevted, but The proposed marketing of the new noiseless gun, invented by Hiram Maxwell, in june 1908
