yes. with political will, and the first step to take would be to abolish the arms trade (except for a multi-national force).

the desire for profit for war is one of the most important underlying features in many of the conflicts occurring. once the idea exists that all those bullets will run out people will have to sue for peace.

beyond that, we need to look for justice, ensuring states respect international law and force democracy onto nations that continue to repress their own populations.

it is all a massive challenge but with the right will in the most powerful positions, it is nothing near impossible.

that's quite impossible. look at the situation now... it's already the 21st century, everything is advanced, modern... but people are still not learning from the past... peacefulness is hardly found... even thailand now has declared state of emergency... maybe when people stop thinking of differences and stop discriminating, then world peace may occur in the future...

I'm sorry to say no. The amount of money earned from weapons is just too great to let go. I always think of an old phrase "Follow the money" and you'll find many politicians taking handouts or sitting on the boards of manufacturers. If there is no conflict they will make one happen using the disposable people.

Ofcourse. there will be world peace when the world is governed by one administration system of government. This could be achived by developing the culture of respecting the international law or by organizing a strong supranational government with its own military power or by the rule of God.

With Saddams, Osamas and other fundamentalists living in this world, thinking about world peace is a day-dream.

Not likely, The main effort would be for Arabs and Jews to settle, iraq only enrages the problem. But since the arabs and jews have been battling for 1,000s of years i don't think it is possible in the near future

I truly don't know. We can't even bring peace in our own country among our citizens. The U.N. can't bring peace because they are made up of too many people fighting for their own agenda's. We have too many people like Osama, Chavez, Ahmadinejad, Hammas, etc... in the world who preach hate and death. The world is only united against us, and we are divided because we are too ignorant to think for ourselves. To have peace on this scale would is just a Utopian dream. Too many people, too many views, too many terrorists. Don't give up your dreams, with out them you lose all hope.

the tendency to go to war is inherent in humans. but as long as people desiring peace are ready to sacrifice their personal lives for their cause then we can hope for a more peaceful world.
