Try using a mic safe bowl, 3/4 fill with warm water, add lemon and microwave for 5-10 minutes depending on size of bowl. Let sit for 10 min. CAREFULLY remove (it'll be boiling HOT) and wipe dry. Repeat until smell goes away. Also you could mix baking soda with water (make a strong solution of this) and wipe with that. Maybe alternate these two sugg. and yes, leave your door open when ur done just in case there is trace amounts of the smell left.

Ammonia works great as a deodorizer, clean it with that (wear gloves if you're sensitive to it), and/or leave a small dish with some ammonia in it inside the microwave overnight, should get rid of the smell. There are directions for deodorizing on my ammonia bottle, yours probably has them, too.
If you can't stand ammonia smell, or don't want to use it for other reasons, baking soda and water to clean, and leaving a small dish of baking soda inside might help.
You know that tip for getting odors out of plastic food containers? Maybe that might work, too: clean it well, ball up yesterday's newspaper and leave the pages inside the microwave until they've absorbed the smell. I know that's worked for me with Tupperware, you might try it with your microwave. Clean it afterwards, it might leave some smudges behind.
Use pine cleaner to clean it, that's got a nice smell, that might help. Don't leave it on the surface very long, it's got stuff in it (petroleum distillates) that 'eat' plastic.
Use an orange-based cleaner, those smell great, don't leave that on the surfaces very long, either, orange oil and petroleum distillates will both 'eat' plastic.
Clean it and then leave a baby wipe in the oven, that's got a nice smell, it might do the trick.
After cleaning, try putting in one of those hanging deodorizers (the kind you hang in your car, cardboard shapes, 3 to a pack, usually) on a non-plastic dish, those work really well in lots of household applications. I hang them in my bathroom and kitchen, too.
Hope one or some of these tips help you! :)

Try cooking some cut up lemon in a little water. Wipe clean and let stand open. Repeat if necessary.

clean it with baking soda paste then rinse. I would leave a dish of it in there until the smell is gone. Just like in the fridge.
