log onto 192.168.1.1 OR 192.168.0.1 and check your security settings. If you dont know what this means, call tech support, they'll help you out. My experience is that they're really friendly.

Dowload network stumbler, You will come to know easily.

It will show a lock symbol, if it is encrypted.

you cannot know it without an additional firewall
