I have long-term platonic girl friends.
I have got more long term platonic friends that I have had a one night stands with or mini-relationships with back in the day but they have remained friends long after the event....
Mostly the platonic freindships with girls I have are with other peoples girlfriends now that I think about it...

Yes, as long as both the man and women do not have any romantic feelings for the other.
If one is wanting more then friendship there is a possibility the friendship would end or develop into more.
It really depends on how both feel for each other.
If one has feelings for the other and the other does not that could cause a problem in the friendship.

Sure...I've been platonic with a guy since I was 12 years old...I'm now 45....He's like my big brother and we keep in touch every week by phone...we live too far way from each other now...but if we lived close, we'd be together watching t.v. and doing things the way friends do.....we DO see eachother once or twice a year...he's a truck driver...every time he drives thru my town we hook up....makes my day!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
