I got my eyes checked and they are fine. I am going to the dr next week, but this is driving me crazy.

I get headaches for around 3 - 5 days at a time. Not migranes, but dull throbbing headaches...they get severe, then let up for a little bit. They go away for a day or so, then it starts all over again.

Stress, triggers ( eating or drinking specific things that react badly to YOUR system) the doctors can give you tests, the weather , pollution.

Stress is a major cause of headaches. Since you are not specific where your headaches are, such as your forehead, behind your eyes, your temple, top of your head, or stem from your neck, I will be vague.

Until you see the doctor, I would like to make general suggestions:

From a sitting position, feet flat on the floor and sitting straight up, stretch your neck, by letting your head gently fall forward, holding the position for at least ten seconds. Slowly raise head to normal postion, ten seconds. Gently let head fall back for a far as you can tolerate...again, ten seconds. (all of these are for ten seconds each) Bring head back to normal position. Let head fall to the right, then normal position, then left. Repeat all of these 3 times. This should be done twice a day, preferrable in the am and pm. More if you find they work well.

I also recommend ice therapy, applied to the area affected for 10 minute intervals, and 10 minutes of no ice...don't want to frost the skin.

If the pain is behind your eyes or on temples or forehead, gentle, rotational massage is good, as well as the ice therapy mentioned above.

As another answerer suggested it could be tied to blood pressure, if you have the ability to check your blood pressure during the day, do so, at the same times every day, about 5 times a day....chart it and see how they relate to your headache episodes.

As a former sufferer of headaches, I learned these techniques from a doctor I worked for part time. I have yet to have these not work.

I wish you well, dear one.

Headache can occasionally be caused by bleeding, tumor, or infection inside the skull, or else by diseases involving teeth, eyes, or sinuses. Flu or any sickness that causes fever can also cause headache. Such headache is known as secondary headache because it is due to--or secondary to--other problems. That is, the headache is only a symptom of some other disorder....

Could be a reaction to what you are eating. If you eat overly processed food you can get addicted to it, also aspartamine in soft drinks can give this reaction. Diet coke is the best example of such a product. Start to question what you eat and try and cook your own meals.

Have you sustained any soft tissue injuries to your upper back, neck or shoulders? Sometimes overcompensation for a minor injury can cause stress on the muscles and lead to tension headaches.
