Why is it people who have taxis, minubuses, ice cream vans, hot dog vans and other commercial vehicles, can just turn their front and back gardens into free off road parking areas and spoil the neighbourhood while the rest of us have to find and buy/rent a garage or storage facilities. Is there no law against this?

You have to live and let live, you know. They probably also have to turn one of their bedrooms into an office/study - so it isn't all fun and games!
I also have difficulty in seeing why having gardens used for parking is spoiling the neighbourhood.
We live in a small village and many of the residents have their own small businesses which involves the use of commercial vehicles. The streets are very narrow. I think that that are actually being more considerate by using their front gardens for parking.
What does cause concern is the multi-car family that have three cars on the drive and another three on the street - and often they have no children, so who the hell is using the cars?
Taxis do annoy me though but only because I am not sure why they build taxis with no indicators - or do they just teach taxi drivers not to use them?

I doubt its free. I kow you have to pay the council for the pavement, for example. Also, wouldn't you rather they parked in their own space in their former garden than in front of your house?
