My mother was diagnosed with stage 2 endometrial cancer and has undergone a major surgery on the 27th March 2006. I have been looking up info on survival rate, and all I run across is the 5 year survival rate, which is quite good. But what I am really looking for is some answers in real world terms. Does the 5 year rate mean she is likely to only live 5 years after her surgery? What are her chances of living out a full, natural life? She is only 53 and in good health, except for diabetes. I know no one can tell me how long she will live or if this caner will kill her, but there must be statistics out there on how long these cancer patients typically live. Please help me with answers.

5 yr survival is given because all the follow up data of patients is analysed at 2, 3,5 yrs etc, what is assumed is that patient is cured if disease is dormant for five years,.. of course it can recur but chance is less. Did she recieve Radiotherapy? Do answer me

Statistics are a very accurate game with entirely inaccurate numbers. Every human being is unique, not a statistical number. Everyone's body is unique and the reasons for cancer substantially differ from person to person. Therefore, the prospects of survival also differ with each individual.

You may find it illuminating to visit the Dhaxem website and click on "Dhaxem and Cancer". It gives a comprehensive account of what to do/look out for in cancer healing. The cancer survival rate depends entirely on how a person responds to the causes of cancer in their very specific case.

Wishing you and your mum all the best.
