I've downloaded video downloader in order to download youtube videos and play them in flv format!The problem is that when i download these files the come up with extensions like html or (generally file)!What am i doing wrong?Please help me!

when you choose the directory and the name to save your video, add the .flv on the name, and thats it.

make sure to save in flv format like the previous person says.
If it still does not work ,maybe the video downloader is not functioning properly,then go to the mozilla page on the addon

you could also try using the program directly on their website

just copy the URL of the utude (or other videos) page onto the download field and let them do the job of giving you the URL. Then use a downloader to download the file yourself and save in FLV format.

When you are downloading the video, save it as "blablabla.FLV". Then you will need an FLV player. Heres a good one: http://www.free-odecs.com/download/Media_Player_Classic.htm
There is actually an easier alternative, I think to the video downloader. Go to http://keepvid.com and follow the instructions. Still remember to save the file as FLV.
If you want to take this a step further, you cant download a program that converts flv to 3gp, making it viewable on your cellphone. Its pretty cool, actually.
