I think smooth is right except I am pretty sure that you need to hold down the trip button and then turn your key to acc while holding the button i until it resets. Could be wrong but try it

You can take it to an Auto Zone, if there is one around. They can see why the light is on, and erase the code. Your oil light should be on if your oil was low, not the maintenance required light. It usually comes on after a cylinder misfire, or EGR vavle goes bad, or O2 sensor is clogged, or fuel injector is clogged. See why you need to go get it checked out, not just erase it? Auto Zone does it for free, a shop will charge you $40 or so.

go to the local dealership and have tell them it's still on and have them turn it off. Could be that another code is setting it off that needs looked at. Should be covered under your warranty

put the key in, go to acc, hold the mileage/trip button and watch the numbers. they will all go to zeros then one after another will go away, when it is done start car and light is gone.

if you don,t have a scanner then you can disconnect the battery cable for a couple of minutes that will reset it but it will also reset your clock and pre-set radio stations so you will have to re-program them too

it turns off by itself....there may be another problem that you havent noticed yet. we have an 05 corolla, so im guessing its about the same.
