Climate temperate; moderated by prevailing southwest winds over the North Atlantic Current; more than one-half of the days are overcast.

So I would expect somewhere not far from the North-East Coast in the Rain-Shadow of the mountains and with no towns or main roads nearby to pollute the sky with their horrid streetlights.

If you have a particular shower in mind then

has some good info on when showers occur (prevailing weather conditions in October may be different from the rest of the year for example - you might want to go to Leith) and you can find the best viewing angle w.r.t. light pollution by finding which direction to look in

Aviemore and Buckie..

I've seen the Leonids in 1998 from the Buckie coastline, and the Perseid meteor shower from Aviemore circa 2003
