In my opinion, Dell make top quality laptops for a great price.

Definitely the new MacBook. I used to have a Dell, but got a Mac a few months ago. Much better in terms of specifications and the price paid, and is actually portable - unlike my old Dell, which had next to no battery life and was huge. Also, Dell's customer service (in my opinion) was rubbish and wholly unhelpful when problems arose.

I got mine online from a company called Novatech & have been very happy with it. Much cheaper than an equivalently spec-d model from Fujitsu, Toshiba, Acer etc.
Would love a nice Mac laptop though!

Get the Acer Aspire 5670. for $1400-1500 you get: 120 GB hardrive, 2 GB RAM. ATI X1400 graphix card (whoever i talk to is suprised to see one of those in a laptop.) it has intel duo core processor, bluetooth, wireless, and a 17in screen. But its not too heavy. oh it also has a camera and card reader.

Dell
Get a docking station for use at home or in the office (where you tend to use it most). I like having the docking station, much better than a dinky little monitor & dinky little keyboard.
Laptop still great anywhere, just get a docking station. Well I like mine with that... but they paid for everything at the office.
