I like good independant cinema and world cinema (in fact Iraian cinema is very underated) what would you recommend?

not a big fan of crime dramas apart from things like killing zoe or dog day afternoon.

Ang Lee films, especially those he made while he was in Taiwan. My personal favorite is Eat Drink Man Woman.
Amores Perros is also very good, but it's a hard movie.
