hi there. at the end of the day, you are MOST FERTILE in the 2 days preceding ovulation, and the day of ovulation itself. so to be certain, you should check when you are ovulating, as every woman is different.

your cycle is broken down into 2 stages: the follicular phase (prior to ovulation) and the luteal phase (after ovulation).
the follicular phase can vary alot, but the luteal phase pretty much stays the same for most people. it GENERALLY lasts 10 - 16 days.
therefore, if you had a 28 day cycle, and you had a 14 day luteal phase, then ovulation would have occurred on day 14. however - if you have a 28 day cycle and you have a 10 day luteal phase, then you ovulated on day 18. therefore NEVER take it for granted that you ovulate on day 14 of your cycle. it is a complete myth, and only happens this way for a small percentage of people.

to find out on which day you could be ovulating, i would suggest the following:

use ovulation predictor kits (can be brought in supermarkets and pharmacies etc). when you get a positive result on one of these, they can tell you that you are due to ovulate in the next 12 - 48 hours.

monitor your fertile mucous. when you are close to ovulating, you get a clear sticky discharge that is a bit like egg white and can be stretched. you may notice it when you wipe after going to the loo. you can also insert a couple of fingers into your vagina to find it. the mucous isnt fertile (near to ovulation) until it reaches this stage. it must be like egg white, or at the least, watery, to count. at other times it may be creamy, sticky or dry.

check your cervix daily. during a non fertile period of your cycle, your cervix is low and closed and feels like the tip of your nose. when it is fertile, it will be high and open, and will feel like your lips. you should check your cervix daily at the same time of the day.

take your basal body temperature. this means your waking temperature, before getting up or moving or having a drink or anything. you will need to use a digital thermometer. this is only useful in working out that you have already ovulated, as your temperature will show a sustained rise after this time. (should do anyway!) you can get free charting materials on www.fertilityfriend.com

if you are wanting to know this because you are wanting to get pregnant, then doing the things i have mentioned will help you tenfold in getting pregnant. if you want to avoid getting pregnant, it will help you to know this information as you could sustain from having sexual intercourse on those fertile days, but fresh sperm can last up to 5 days in your body so be very careful, and i would still advise using contraception anyway due to std's/sti's and other diseases.

whatever happens, good luck!!!!!

It's the three days in the middle of the 28 days. For EG, if you come on the 1st day of the month it would work out to be the 13th 14th 15th days of the month

durring ovulation. that would depend on your cycle. its always in the middle of your cycle. so if your cycle is 28 days you would be most fertile durring the 14th day of your cycle.

if your periods are regular say every 28 days then usually the 14th day after your last period is when you are most fertile.
