The reason the person was Polish had nothing to with why they got the job, it's economics. If you don't like the fact they businesses need to ge the best deal out of their employees perhaps you should try for a government/public sector job.
You were not sacked from a full time contracted position because the person is Polish, you were sacked and then another person was found. If they had been Scottish, from the Isle of Wight or had ginger hair would you have bothered posting this...i doubt it.
Polish people specifcally tend to take on a lot of work in the UK that our own citizens don't bother learning anymore or thin kits beneath them. Butchery, tradeskills, farm work, labouring etc.
Because we allow our tv and media to tell us all the time that everyone should have great jobs and be rich, people think they are owed this. Not true, you get what you work for. Go out there and try harder, get a qualification, if you are unemployed go to the Job Centre and ask for free training.
I spend about 1/6 of the each year unemplyed due to being an IT contractor and not wanting to work for a boss, i don't complain when contracts are thin on the ground that all my work is going to India. What i do instead is study in those periods and improve my chances for a new contract. I have never in these periods claimed Unemployment benefit because i save money to cover them.
Plan ahead, make acheivable goals and look to what you want to do in 5 years time. If you start towards it now your dreams MAY be realised. Complaining makes no money and wasted your life.

No I dont agree, the polish have proven themselves as workers,, many Brits should learn from that! It is also illegal to simply get rid of someone and replace them, you must have done something to cause your manager to terminate your employment, so you would be in the wrong! If you have never had a problem getting a job, whats your beef now then?
Get out and get a job and shut up! The Polish people are doing the jobs a lot of Brits feel is beneath them, thats what the brits dont like, being put to shame

You sound like a very a sad person!! stop blaming others for not being able to find a job. What job are you looking for anyway??? Are you a builder or workingi catering/hospitality???? If so, they are probably better, more reliable more committed. It's a free market out there. Do you understand?
Go to Poland use your skills and head and you could be a millioner soon as you are English and have a much better start at the base. Got it???

Hey.... why don't you go get a job in a hospital in London? You'll get a better chance to work in a hospital if you have a relation working there. London's hospital are 'family friendly' hospital. One of the biggest hospital in the UK, and one of the best in the world, located in the city, 10 points for those who know the location, you won't believe the amount of people that are related to each other that work here. Where is the equal opportunity??? where is the professionalism??? ....................its all on paper.
If you can't get a job, thats you. If you believe in God, then be patient, a job will come up soon, keep on looking and make supplications. Don't blame it on immigrants.

I lost my job to a Polish guy, do I hold a grudge against him, not at all, it was difficult for me I was without work for almost a year, but it inspired me to do better, I improved my qualification and now have another job paying 50% more that the job I lost to the polish guy.
So quit whining and get out there and improve your skills and push yourself to get a better more secure job than the first one.

I doubt you were sacked for no reason. To be replaced with a Polish person just goes to show that the boss has good sense.
No use blaming Mr Blair.

The only party that cares about white working class people is the British National Party. Sad but true these days. Labour is now the party of the middle class.

Yes my friend, you are quite correct...but you have to see it from the Labour point of view..........without being nice to all these scroungers, where would their votes come from....certainly not us. I am sorry for your position and hope that you find work soon, but in order to change the situation, Labour must go......asap
