It can be very painful. I have so much pain sometimes it hurts to stand, sit and even walk. I even have pain in my rectum. I have seen my Dr and he says it is normal.

Not all women have pain during ovulation- but I do. I have always known that my period is due with the next two weeks because of the cramps I get for a few days- and this is when I'm ovulating. Now that I'm trying for a baby and have the ovulator tests- they have shown I was ovulating when I have these pains.

It is common for it to hurt if you have cysts on our ovaries, or have had them in the past and left with the scars. Again. ovarian custs are really common- I get them, and nothing to worry about- except they hurt. If it is incredibly painful and you are inhibiltated over the pain you probably should see your doctor as the cysts may be too big.

Hope that reassured and helped you.

during ovulation?

most women do not know when they are ovulating. some say that they feel a popping/tingling sensation on a particular side and believe that this is an egg being released. they dont usually report this as being a very strong pain.

cramping associated before and during a woman's period is natural. if they are so bad that you find yourself in a fetal position, needing to take a large amount of pain relievers, or just hurting extremely badly, you need to see your doctor and get looked at. there could be something seriously wrong that a doctor would need to diagnose and treat.

Pain is very subjective. If you have discomfort during ovulation, it shouldn't last hours, days. Some women have a cramp or a twinge with ovulation, it is called Mittelschmerz. Once the ovum is released you should NOT have pain. If you have prolonged discomfort not related to menstrual cramps, you should definitely see your Gyne. Good luck!

As much as your can handle... If it gets too much to handle then pay a visit to your doctor.]

How do i know? Because my girlfriend has felt such bad experiences with ovulation.

She asked advice from other people... like yahoo answers... and ended up in hospital.

She is ok now, but she should have just paid a visit to the doctor.

Hope you get an answer to help your pain..

None, there shouldn't be pain during ovulation. Besides that, it should occur without effecting you at all. Go to the doctor.

its normal for some and not others. I myself get annoying stabbing pains, my friend however, had to visit casualty and they said to her "Oh your just ovulating, go home and lie down". so despite the pain, worry not. No healthy individual to my knowledge has died through ovulation.
