I call it trapped. Or bamboozzled. It depends on the eldery person. They can be so tricky . . . My maternal grandmother will offer you more and more until you're ready to bust. Then, as you are finishing off the dessert she will comment on your weight. "Gee, dear, you're looking quite robust lately. Maybe you should cut back on the sweets." I call that bamboozzled!

Trapped is when it will honestly hurt the adorable seniors' feelings that you didn't at least try her grey and lumpy cheesecake.

Well, in that case, you can take a bite or 2 and say thank you to them. They won't mind. At least you will take a bite or so. But if the person you're with isn't considerate and mannered enough to understand your feelings not to do or eat something, then you shouldn't let it bother you. You can do nothing about it.
