DNA is found in the nucleus of every cell. However, a cell's mitochondria also have their own DNA. Whereas the DNA that sits in the nucleus of all your cells is a combination of 23 chromosomes from your father and 23 from your mother, sperm does not provide any mitochondrial DNA to the fertilized egg. So all the DNA in your mitochondria comes from your mother. So you actually have more maternal DNA than paternal, strictly speaking.

DNA means Deoxy ribose nucleic acid i.e., it's chemical structure is in ribose there lacks an oxygen molecule in hydroxyl group. It is found in the nuclei of cells of sperms, ova and mostly in the chromosomes. It carries the genetic information from one generation to the other. Commonly it has two polynucleotide chains wounded together in a helix. In it the nitrogen bases viz., purines( adenine & guanine) and pyramidines ( Cytosine and thymine) are arranged in pairs and bonded together with hydrogen bonds. In replication of DNA a new nucleotide strand attaches to the already existing strand. The process continues.

DNA found in every living cell except some viruses.
in akaryotes i.e. virus, single or double stranded DNA is found
in prokaryotes i.e. becteria, double stranded, linear and circular DNA is found in their cytoplasm.
in all eukaryotes double stranded, helically coiled dna is found in their nucleus of cell
