its a secondary storage device. apart from floppy and cd's .the pen drive is used to store any kind of file .it has different storage capacity. jus it has to b plugged into the usb port .we can delete the file after using it.

Pen drive is an accessory to store data. Usually in floppy, CD Drives we save the data. But we are not sure that in any other computer it would / would not open. So this is a substitute to save the data / files / folder, instead we can say a safe way to save the data,
