if you really want to do MTech first get syllabus for GATE exam .then prepare yourself accordingly.i dont know you are in which year of BE but just prepare full syllabus of GATE before giving exam.

for more tips you can buy more books if you want to achiev M-tech.and also you can read books more than your level.
