The very fact that you say " so many beautiful things...." etc. means that you SEE many many NOT SO BEAUTIFUL things too! So who decides what is beautiful? Only you .Or for that matter the beholder.
So, if we find a person self centered she/he sees the world in that perspective. May be that person does not like himself/herself , feeling a lot of imferiority complex. But, someday he/she will start to see things in others` perspective too. That day, only that day he/she will come out of his/her self centeredness.

There are two things.
1. If you own some Beauty - you may develop 'possessiveness' and would not love to share with others.
2. Jealousy - If your neighbour has it, you want to have it!
If one can control his mind, every thing will be fine.
But controlling mind is very difficult and some times may not be practicable.
For example, how many of us share information? Most of the people in SAP boom, made money and never shared information. Same is the case with many Knowledge based industries.
Enjoy the beauty and share what is possible!

Ofcourse, but I think to learn who are good human beings such personalities must be their so that we can differentiate . So many type of people we come accross in our life. People who are self centered are not because of their own fault these are Genes u see mostly all of us are reflection of our parent or grandparent. They are so rejected as no body wants to be in their company they have to be alone with their self centered behavior. They are with the insecurities so always wants to grab whatever is in their possession. simple so keep yourself away from those. and enjoy the beautiful things God has created in the world.

Actually GOD only has the answer to your question.
Because GOD also made the man what he is and how he has evolved over times making him more selfish, jealous and mind full of other vices.
GOD has created such a powerful athletic meet where the distance of the stretch and the number of hurdles to be crossed by a human are unknown and he gets tripped over willingly or unwillingly in the hurdles.

cause they are backstabbing biatches that think there to good for anything n don't appreciate the most wonderful things in life from the flowers to the dirt where they came from. Some ppl just need to be smacked in the head and woken up

People became so self centered and forgot that we share the planet with other creatures.
I would love to watch a horse grazing on my lawn, but the zoning laws prevent that.
Instead, I have to hear crazy, loud noises from vehicles passing by.
Mankind became a big toilet.
Once we go back to nature, we become one with the planet.

for every good thing theres a bad thing. yet someone who said about the not so beautiful things is also right because what you consider beautiful others might not.

when one see around oneself he sees the whole universe around him and he find himself in the center of the universe hence every one feels self centered.
