Yes, we all know there is a spell check button. Would it kill you to read something with a typo in it? Why the uptightness? So what if I misspelled a word. If you noticed the mistake, you got the message. Get over yourselves, because you aren't perfect either! No one is!
PS: I agree that questions should be able to be understood if you want answers. I'm talking about the little mistakes, not the "u" for you or "y" for why. Now I agree that that is lazy.

I repeatedly point out on here that people should be able to see through the spelling and grammar mistakes to see the question. OK it annoys people when text type is used but there are some people who genuinely cant spell and they don't need people to constantly criticise them for it. As for the spell checkers, it works on your header, but it does not on the main paragraph of your question. Stop trying to be wannabee teachers and try to enjoy the site for what it is......

I don't really mind spelling errors unless it's excessive. It's kind of annoying though when every third word is misspelled. But if I can make sense of it then I will post an answer. What's much more frustrating are questions that contain so many errors in spelling and grammar that they are incoherent and incomprehensible. I understand that for some of these people English is not their primary language but others are just plain dumb, lazy or drunk.

Spelling can and will show you someones intelligence level. Them not using the spell checker for one is totally stupid and not previewing the question is stupid also. We all misspell words all the time but people should have the intellect to read over it before submitting it.

It isn't just the misspelled words. It is the grammar. It is the 14 year old girls who are more concerned if they are pregnant or not and they can't even spell. That is all we need is another welfare woman on the rolls with a child in tow.

Because there are kids on here, and they learn by example. When adults ask or answer questions with loads of grammatical or spelling errors, it sets a bad example, and teaches kids it's ok to be lazy

When something is misspelled it just catches your eye It slows down your reading because your brain tells you it isn't right . So you have to go back to it and see what is wrong.

It only bothers me when I can't understand the question. Sometimes it is misunderstood to the point that people actually answer it as if they are reading a different meaning.

If you get to the point that it doesn't matter then why even have a written language. We could just have microphones and just grunt and growl at each other. That's why we have words like bling entered into our dictionary see what I'm saying?

I feel the same way as you.
It is really irritating me when someone asked about her daughter's diary of wanting suicide, the answerer is saying for spellcheck. What a mess!

It's because it makes you look so illiterate, and childish.
Like just now "uptightness" is two words, and "Now I agree that that is lazy" you only need one (that)
