I have this re-occurring dream about a house. This house belonged to one of my mum's friends called Irene. I loved that house, it was so mysterious. As a kid I always wanted to live there it also had a great big garden. There was something 'scary' about it and perphaps that just added to the mystery. In my re-occurring dream I always have the following: I inherited this house and now it's mine. It's exciting to go around and look at everything, I'm always enjoying it, however, the house is haunted and sometimes the spirit or spirits get annoyed so doors start to slam and the rest of it. Nothing violent but enough to make me decide to go away for bit. However, last night I just wanted to stay and wait for the spirit(s) but I woke up. What does this all mean? I really wish I inherited this house.

That sounds like a very interesting dream. :) There are a couple of ways you can interpret that. First of all, when you dream about houses, it sometimes means you are dreaming about your mind. Things such as a house you love but is a bit mysterious could mean that you are basically secure, but you are worried about a few things or how a few things are going to turn out. Or it culd mean that you are not sure how you feel about something. Or it could be as one answered above and you have some kind of connection to the house from a past life, depends on how old the house is. Or it could even mean that you have latent psychic powers and upon visiting there, made a connection and that connection is calling to you. So, there are many ways you can interpret that dream. Do some searching online for dream analysis and visit a few sites, then maybe piece together for yourself why you are dreaming this.

As Freud said the only person who can really analyse a dream is the dreamer themselves, as they know what is going on in their heads.
At a rough guess though remembering mysterious and exciting things from your childhood usually points towards a fear of ageing.
You miss the innocence of youth and are scared by the responsibilties life now brings.
At a guess I would also say that life is now boring and mundane - the spirits represent excitement.
...or maybe it means somehing completely different who knows.

I think the fact that you feel such a connection with this huse is significant. How old is the house? I am wondering if you lived in the house in a past life, or near to it. There's definitely something about that house that draws you there, and that you need to find out.

your yearning for yesteryear, you feel insecure, and are remembering familiar surroundings.
the fact that the house is haunted, only confims your feeling of insecurity, the reason doors slam and you want to run away, means your afraid to face up to an underlying "truth", only you are aware of this "truth",
the reason you, tried to stay and wait to "see" the spirits last night, is because you are trying hard to overcome your trepidation, re- learning, or accepting this "truth", you woke only because you feel unready or unwilling....
most dreams, are unconscious paralels of conscious life...
and the human mind, is capable of literally shutting itself down rather than face upto inner fears, a bit like a saftey valve, be patient with yourself.

to me this means that in the near future there's going to be an important change in your life and there will be a choice to make it could be you need to make a commitment to a relationship i feel theres a baby or young child involved or if not a real child a symbol of a new start this decision is hard for you to make as your afraid of making the wrong choice subconsciously you want to return to your child hood and have someone make this decision for you so that the success or failure of this venture into the unknown can be taken out of your hands
