If I was Native American, I know 100% I would hate the wholeThanksgiving tradition. I just want to know your thoughts on the matter. And if you don't have a clue as to why, then go back to history class.

Some skins do but most folks here on my reservation don't and actually go all out for Thanksgiving. However, we don't work on Columbus Day!! Now that's offensive.

Thanksgiving has become just a holiday to have a big feast with the family. Nobody that celebrates it is celebrating it because land was stolen or what occured after that first feast.

The "first Thanksgiving" was not even called a holiday and after that first feast. The feast was actually not even in November and the Pilgrims had one to celebrate Autumn Harvest after a long hard winter. Whatever happend with the Native Americans has nothing to do with todays tradition. Me thinks it's someone else that has to go check the history books!

It seems that some Native American political activists object and their thoughts are often in public media during that time of the year. Same with Columbus Day. I heard that the gambling casinos in California have a big thanksgiving dinner special. Its time to get over these historical mistakes and stop playing the blame game.

THANKSGIVING HAS BECOME A REASON TO GET TOGETHER AND EAT, MORE THAN ANYTHING.

MY FAMILY HAS TALKED ABOUT THE REASONING FOR CELEBRATION, AND MOST OF US HAVE AGREED THAT IT IS OUR DAY TO VISIT, EAT AND HAVE A GOOD TIME, WE DO NOT ACKNOWLEDGE IT AS BEING A CELEBRATION OF "THE FIRST FEAST", BUT SIMPLY AS A CELEBRATION OF OUR FAMILY AND HERITAGE.

OUR PEOPLE KNOW THAT IT WAS OUR ANCESTORS WAY OF TREATING STRANGERS TO A GOOD MEAL, AND A WAY OF WELCOMING, WHAT CAME AFTER WAS A CATASTROPHE OF COURSE, AND INEXCUSABLE...BUT IT HAS BECOME LIKE ANY OTHER WHITE AMERICA HOLIDAY, WE CELEBRATE OUR FAMILY AND FRIENDS NOT THE HISTORY...BECAUSE IF YOU THINK ABOUT IT IT'S PRETTY SAD FOR OUR CULTURE, EVERY HOLIDAY HAS HAD SOME NEGATIVE IMPACT ON OUR PEOPLE...
