Unless you have already treated your ears with a softening agent (best is olive oil), then it would be irresponsible for anyone to syringe your ears.

You can often clear ear wax yourself by applying olive oil to your ears twice daily (keep your head on one side for a few minutes after putting a drop of oil in...do not use cotton wool plugs). After about 4 days of the olive oil, you can then use sodium bicarbonate ear drops once a day and the olive oil once a day. By the end of the week, you should find a marked improvement.

No good doctor will syringe you ears at short notice - you could end up with perforated ear drum and very deaf.

I suffer badly with blocked ears so I know how you feel (spaced out and deaf). Ring you GP and make out its worse than it really is (earache, bad pain etc) and they may give you an emergency appointment otherwise go to a walk in centre. I don't know of one in central London so ring your doctor for advice or NHS Direct. Either way you will need drops for about 3 days to soften wax before they will syringe.

Go to your GP...this is not normal practice anymore and they might not even do it....They recomend you use slightly warmed olive oil, and it should sort it self out. Gp's do not recomend ear drops as they can cause infection, and block them more.

If you can't wait to get an appointment at the docs, then try some of the drops you get at the chemist, they really work.
