I'm sure it used to be quite good but now they just seem to play complete dross all day.

If its not some sickly RnB ballad its morose indie dirge or even worse the Scissor Sisters.

Generally much more listenable than it used to be (less country music for starters) and a reasonable mixture of genres and decades. Ken Bruce & Steve Wright are my favourite shows but even they can become repetitive in the music department.

The station's head of music needs a reality check I feel due to the number of repeat plays of certain tunes though.

More variety needed, and DIFFERENT songs.

EG, Instead of playing 'Wishful Thinking' by China Crisis twenty times a month why not play 'Christian' by China Crisis?

i used to listen to radio 2 at work from terry wogan at 8.00 to steve wright at 5.00 the music was a good mix but like you say it has changed the music is repeated every hour may as well be radio 1a the jeremy vine show lost its sparkle and steve wright plays about 6 oldies rather the the 10 or 12 he used to methinks he likes the sound of his own voice to much common BBC sort it out before we all turn heels and leave ...

I love Radio 2, it's my constant companion when I drive and there are certain characters such as Ken Bruce, Steve Wright, and Bob Harris who I really admire. But I do agree about that BLOODY Scissor Sisters song, it's on so ofteen it drives me insane!

RADIO 2 HAS GOT BETTER IN MY OPINION. I'M NOT A BIG FAN OF TERRY WOGAN, BUT HE'S PLAYING A WIDE RANGE OF MUSIC, WHICH I AM HAPPY ABOUT, BECAUSE ATLEAST I KNOW THEY'LL BE AT LEAST TWO TRACKS HE PLAYS I LIKE, AND I HOPE THE SAME IS FOR ALL HIS LISTENERS. ALSO JOHNATHAN ROSS ON A SATURDAY MORNING, GETS THE WEEKEND OFF TO A GOOD START.

I agree about sissor sisters. It's OK, but no one everyones playlist. They play it about 10 times a day.

Yes, radio 2 has gone a bit soft recently.

I was just thinking that the other day when they were playing some Van Morrison track for the umpteenth million time that day. Not that I don't like Van The Man but not so much that my ears bleed.
