yep, no worries.
I would not recommend it for games though as the data access speed will be lower

Yes you can install it in the external hard disk. But the speed wont be so fast as the internal hard disk unless you use firewire interface than USB.

You can run all programs and applications from an external hard drive if it has been connected properly and you are able to read all its contents.
