What is the deal with baby boomers. I believe they are the worst generation to have lived. What do you think?

When they were young they were all about "free love". They spread aids and other STDs. Now we can't have free love. "Love" may come at a hefty price.

When they were young drink driving was OK. Many would congratulate each other about "making it" to their destination. Now all of us must suffer in sobriety. They criticise us for drink driving and are often in favour of tighter laws, with the fond memories in their minds of flaunting the laws themselves.

Now, if we drink drive we are likely to be caught. There are serious consequences. Is this fair? I believe they are Hypocrites.

Is that so ,well this computer you are using is here thanks to baby boomers. Maybe it is their parents, I mean they had the gall to survive the war and want to make babies. You need to go to the source, and you would not be here to bad mouth them if your parents weren't a part of that club. BOOM! Hypocrites? and how would you do it better. The "perfect generation" before gave us eugenics in action, turned a blind eye to or participated in racism. That is if we use a broad brush to accuse all of them equally as you do my generation. They also brought in penicillin, insulin, the space race. The Good the Bad and the Ugly in all generations. Nobody gets off. No time was perfect so get on with it and do better I dare you. Wah wah heres a tissue, pull those pants up,hide those tattoos, get a job wah. O_-

By the time AIDS came along Baby Boomers were out of practice so you can't blame that on them. STD's during their time was something you took a pill for or got a shot not so now your generation has come up with the bad stuff.

Maybe they have come to realize the way it was is not the best way and do not want you precious ones to have to travel the wrong path and make the same mistakes.

Maybe someone who thinks it is such a badge of honor to be able to drink and drive needs someone to enforce consequences upon them in other to protect innocent people from their stupidity.

As a baby boomer myself I will take some blame, but not all! Some of my generation have turned their back on society. As long as they have all the nicety's of the world they don't care what else goes on.

On the other hand we made social change in the sixties. We did and still do care about the world, people, cultures, the enviroment. The air is cleaner today then it was when we were kids. Many rivers and streams ran dead from industry, today they run clean. We made people aware of social unjust all over the world. We stood against the government for a war we did not agree with (I did and still do thank all my brothers and sisters warriors for their sacrifices for our people). We did not bring about STDs and aids! They have been here for many many generations.

We did these things because we felt our parents left us with a world that was unfair. We made change!
What are you doing?

I disagree...we would of got STDs anyway...

You are the hypocrites...the baby boomers now are at their 50s to 60s they don't care about the world..

If the babyboomers are the worst generation..
We are pretty bad too..

Obesity has hit our generation pretty bad where then it was not even an issue!!!

So before blaming the baby boomers blame yourself...

if it wasn't them, it be this one, or a different one.
from what I hear, kids still have sex all the time,
its just not a big deal anymore
I hear there are drugs out there like
fly, crack, and many many others.... and stronger than back when
When I graduated school in 93, handguns were in schools
and I know you have heard of the horrors in schools,
they didn't happen then.

were they worse?
I don't know

but they figured out,
wait, this is self destructive,
now this generation is doing it to,
and will tell their kids not to do the same thing.

You hold your child in you arms,
you watch them grow, they want to explore the whole world, dark side and light,
and you say to them
don't do that, I know lots of people hurt there, and thought it was cool then.

Hi m8, I'm a 50 yr old man and i think I'm just after the Baby boomer era. I'm sure what you are saying is partly to blame, but i think you have missed the most important point. I think this era was responsible for the out of control hooligans we have on our streets today. Parenting from when the baby boomers had their own families was the start of the trouble we have today, bad role models......

Have you ever heard "The road to hell is paved with good intentions." They ment well but they never thought about the consequences of their actions, or policies.

I tend to agree. Things really started to go downhill after the mid-60's.
