It took thirteen years from Independence to the constitution with the Articles of Confederation in between. It took a while for the Soviet Bloc to settle down, Although Chechnya is still giving Russia fits right now.

America had plenty of problems and still does. The fact is, Iraq, Afghanistan or any other nation that tries to base it's laws on strict religious beliefs will never have a true democracy.

The US had a lot of problems, and some issues are still being worked out.

Iraq may wind up being 3 or 4 different countries before it's all over with. Afghanistan has the problems of poor education and poverty.

These are obstacles that can be overcome but it could take decades.

Do you think we want to get out of Iraq, we want civil war so we can build permanent bases... so of course the factions are going to keep feuding and corporate America is going to love them for it because while we divide and conquer we can exploit their resources and leave them up a creek without a paddle so to speak.
Is it democracy? when the few own the media outlets they can control the perception of reality thus control the masses. Democracy has turned into fascism or what Mussolini said should be called corporatism because it is the perfect merger of government and corporate interest. its just like wizard of odds there is a man behind the curtain and the road to oz was paved with the worthless paper greenback.
