I heard that Steve Irwin's wife Terri wants the video of his death made public. This can't be true can it? I hope this is just a rumor. Why on earth would she want that to happen? Why would anyone want to see that?

Maybe as an activist she wants people to be fully aware of the dangers of animals, to teach people to respect them!

Look....the entire coverage of Irwin's death has been a media spectacle so the fact that there is now a concern about the viewing of this video...what were you expecting? Look...I admired the man and his love for animals. I am sorry that he died. But for the life of me I can not understand why there has been so much attention given to this unfortunate incident. I had two friends of mine die within the past two months. They were just as good, lovable, valuable human beings as anybody else. Now I accept that some people make a greater difference and a greater impact during their lives then others. OK. But I have some genuine concern that the real reason people pay so much attention to the lives of the rich and famous is because it satisfies some deeper un-met need.
To be honest I do not think we are honoring Irwin's life by paying so much damn attention to his death and to the media spectacle it has become. If he was truly and deeply dedicated to the well being and good care of animals then that is what we ought to be paying attention to and discussing. At least that is an actual substantive issue worthy of time and attention and I think that giving that issue some real focus would be the deepest honor we could give to this one human being who...to get real...died because of how he lived...taking big risks...living on the edge...that is in no way supposed to be an indictment of him but I am getting a bit fed up with all of this stuff...we live in a culture where so called "ordinary" people die each and every day...men and women who have loved deeply, worked hard, and given much...but they are not on tv...they are not in People magazine...and you know what? Good. I feel rather ambivalent about those who seek out fame...who say "me" "me" "me"...I don't know enough about Irwin's life to say that he falls into that category and he may very well not...but I hope people understand what I am trying to get at here and read this from a rational place.

I have heard nothing about that, from what I know she has said very little except at the memorial. If she wants it out then it would be because Steve wanted it that way. It happened very fast there was little violence to it, he was just alive one minute and gone the next. Some how I doubt it but I will be looking around to see if there are any facts to this story. It seems there would be little to be gained from viewing it. I do not want to see it even though that is the last image of him alive. I am really going to miss his face...

The way that people have been reacting to his death, either going over the top or coming very close to slander about him,I should think she simply wants to put all the rumour and innuendo to sleep for ever.
No one has left her to mourn her husband in peace. They all seem to want to claim a little piece of him and I imagine she has had enough of the circus atmosphere.
No. I wouldn't watch it.There are plenty of people who seem to have been suckled no the milk of inhumanity so I guess they would.

She might be making it public because in an old show it was one of his wishes that if he died he wanted her to keep taping so others can learn from it.
