A+1.60xA+1/3x1.6xA = 47
A + (1.60xA) +[1/3 x (1.6xA)] = 47
So put in the brackets to seperate them and always remember multiply and divisions before additions and subtraction!
A + 1.6A + (1/3 x 1.6A) = 47
A + 1.6A + 8/15A = 47
Add up all the coefficients!
(1 + 1.6 + 8/15)A = 47
47/15A = 47
therefore 47 x 15/47 = A
therefore A = 15!

A + (1.60*A) + (1/3 * 1.6 *4) =47
ur question is easily understood if written in that way bcoz they is no contraversial between letter x and multiplication sign.
so A +1.6A + 1.6A/3 = 47
to deal away with th 3 in the denominator u can just divide normally, look for LCM or multiply each section by 3.
I'll choose the latter A*3 + 1.6A*3 + (1.6A/3)*3 = 47*3
3A + 4.8A + 1.6A = 141
add all the like terms 9.4A = 141
divide both sides by 9.4 = 9.4A/9.4 = 141/9.4
A=15

Tell me, what grade r u in?
this question is really simple...
add up all ur A's and divide 47 with the figure u get in front of A
(in the case of 2A, take 47/2=A, juz an example)

A=47/(1+1.60+1.6/3)
The rest is up to you. How old are you? 3?

Your statement of the problem is ambiguous. I can see 2 possibilities:
A*(1+1.6*(1+1/3)) = 47
and
A(1+1.6) +1/(3*1.6*A) = 47
3*1.6*(1+1.6)*A^2 + 1 = 47
both are easily solved.
