Check the schools. BSN is better than associates. Some schools are accredited to confer the degree in two years, same as the associates. It's a hard study path, but well worth it. Good luck to you. Associates have to do more dirty work than BSNs.
Plus, it also makes it easier to get advanced degrees later, which will further increase your earning potential.

The thing is both are good and your are STILL considered and RN afterwards, however, some places are requiring a BSN.
A BSN better prepares you if you were to go into advanced study in nursing....like Practitioner, Educator, Infomatics, Midwifery, etc. With an ASN you would have to get a BSN, then MSN. So, I say for future's sake, a BSN would be beneficial. If you were to go into ASN that also would be perfectly fine. I say apply to both and see what happens, nursing school is so competitive that you need to apply to more than one degree source. Either one is okay, depends all on you.

The associates degree used to only take two years to earn whereas the BSN was a four year degree.
There are many more options available to an RN/BSN than for an associates degree.
I know of someone who get her associates degree and went to work at a large hospital. (Many years ago it was called, practical nursing) Or Licensed Practical Nurse. She worked as an associate nurse long enough to qualify for some tuition assistance from the hospital. She then returned to school and finished her degree with fianancial reimbursement from the hospital.
You might consider that also.~

it's going to be lots harder to stability working and nursing college. counting on how far in existence you're, i could bypass to my interior sight wellness center or retirement abode and spot in the event that they are prepared to furnish coaching for qualified Nursing Assistant. this provides you with first hand adventure of what nurses actual do mutually as working beside them doing ordinary initiatives inclusive of making beds, changing pans, and so on. It additionally promises an part whilst utilising to nursing college, considering you will have adventure. there is not any college requirement for CNA's. Then from CNA artwork directly to a BSN application.
