Happiness is a state of mind and if you are a normal human being than no state of mind can last forever.

Personally, activity, change, and the pursuit of something make me happy; I enjoy doing something not for the end result, but for the thrill of doing it. Thus, I dont even hope to find 'permanent happiness', since I know that the very 'permanence' is what I try to avoid.

One can also approach the issue this way: whenever you get something that you wanted, you want more, or there is something else that you want. That's just normal. I dont think there is such a thing as 'total' or 'complete' happiness.

most people can't find happiness because it starts with themselves.they need to find out what makes them happy and work on it.may it be love quotes, music, making friends or other things.people are tramatic and rather dwell on misery than happiness.u want friends in happy times not have them because they feel sorry for u.that is what makes the world go round by being different from each other

people wont find happiness because they crave for more..sometimes they feel that they want all the good things...but remember to have everything, will not make you happy...We can always see around,,less fortunate people are more happy and contented with what they have...but the rich people most of them end in the hospital because they have lots of problems to tuckle....
Just live a simple life....after all when we die we cant bring the richness to heaven...better stay simple..and the more you will find happiness...

Permanent happiness is spiritual happiness. As long we try to enjoy the temporary material pleasures of sense gratification we can't be satisfied. If you have a bird in a cage and you do nothing to care for the bird, but you are always busy polishing, cleaning and caring for the cage, will the bird be happy? In the same way, we are always busy taking care of the body and mind, the cage of the spirit soul, but we are doing nothing to care for the spirit soul within. Our real identity is spiritual, we are the eternal spiritual energy that gives life to the body and the body is just the temporary vehicle we are riding in for a few years. But we are thinking that the body and/or mind is our real identity and we are working just to please the body and mind, which is not our real identity. This is the cause of all of our unhappiness. We cannot be happy taking care of the cage only. We have to feed the spirit soul. That means we have to engage in pure, spiritual activities, namely the pure devotional service of the Lord. We are in this material world and in this condition we are under the influence of illusion. We think we can be happy working for our selfish desires of gross or subtle sense enjoyment. But this is not a fact. We cannot be happy that way. We are eternal spiritual beings and our constitutional position is to serve the Supreme Being, God. We can only be happy when we give up all our own selfish desires and become completely engaged in the transcendental loving service of the Lord. This is our spiritual sustenance and the source of all happiness. In fact, when we have reawakened our forgotten relationship with the Lord, we enjoy unlimited freedom, unlimited bliss and perfect knowledge in His direct association.

coz change occurs once for every moment that a second of happiness may not last a lifetime but will always be a part of you. satisfaction is but a fraction... contentment, a second... completed/acceptance/fulfillment - the essence of happiness...

I believe that people can't find permanent happiness because they are looking to others to make them happy.
The only place any of us can find permanent happiness is within ourselves.

That is very simple, we live in A World that has A total death rate, everyone is now walking in there own graves, on probation time Jesus Christ bought for them, it is ONLY when one has Jesus Christ as there personal saviour that anyone can find real happiness, and the greatest fulfillment of that happiness will be when He returns for those who are ready to take us home with Him, "IF" you love Him keep HIs commandments" If you love Him enough to keep His commandments you will be there if not you won't and can forget the idea of happiness.
