No. But it's a widely held misconception. Age naturally slows things down, as does having children, a mortgage, and busy schedules. The first year, it's all new and there are few distractions.
If you think about it logically, assuming you'll only be married once, erring on the conservative side, you'd be married 40 years. If you make love an average of once a week (allowing for age) for 39 of those years, that would be over 2000 times. Unless neither of you have jobs, and you're locked in the same room not leaving for a whole year, it's HIGHLY doubtful that your first year together would exceed that.
P.S. While quantity may be initially higher, quality gets better with age. ;-)

I don't think so. We made alot of love that 1st year but we were also 18...I'm sure that had a lot to do with it. Plus we were in that infatuation stage. We have had many years together now and I think we still have sex just as much, sometime's more...sometime's less.

That statement is not to be taken literally. It is just a metaphore saying that sex drive for couples starts strong and then weakens with time. You cannot count exactly, because it is very different for different people.

I've never heard that in my life and it sounds like someone made it up to make themselves sound knowledgable.
Generalisations are neither interesting nor correct. Ever. They make for very mundane discussions. Sorry.

Yes beacuse they are more interested in companionship that than plain sexual intercourse. People want to be loved for reasons other than intimacy.
