That would be Fabien Alain Barthez, who played for Toulouse FC, AS Monaco, Manchester United and Olympique de Marseille. He was awarded the Lev Yashin Award in 1998 when he conceded only two goals in 7 games (including a clean slate in the finals against favored Brazil 3-0), en route to France's victory in the World Cup.

It must also be noted that he also shut out Ronaldo, Ronaldinho and the vaunted Brazilian offense when both teams met in the recently concluded World Cup in Germany

Gregory Coupet of Olympique Lyonnaise is the current goalkeeper for FRANCE. he plays for FRANCE in the first two matches in the 2008 UEFA European Championship qualifiers Group B.

he was included in the 2006 FIFA World Cup squad but as an unused goalkeeper. Fabian Barthez was in goal during the tournament.

Fabien Barthez (Marseille) is still believing by the coach to save the goal but this lately (and a lot of pressurre...) that Gregory Coupet (Lyon) much more deserve for that postion...
They think that Barthez is way too old and he more often make un-important blunder...so, they choose Coupet for that position.
in my opinion...both of them are good goalkeeper but maybe i should say yes of Barthez should replace (he's amazing but his golden-period is over...)

Okay, here's the answer you asked for, with the correct names spelling : our team's current keeper is Grégory Coupet, who plays in the "Olympique Lyonnais". The second keeper is Mickaël Landreau, who used to play in Nantes till this year. He's now Paris team keeper. Fabien Barthez retired after 2006's wc.
