There are lots of ways to become a citizen of Russia. You can get a residency visa (very important) and move to Russia. Once there you can apply for citizenship and wait. Or you can marry a Russian and get citizenship automatically. However, it is important to understand that in most cases (unless you were born in Russia, married a Russian, have an special duel-citizenship law in your country, have special permission from the government) you give up your original citizenship by becoming a citizen of Russia. You can be a permanent resident of Russia without giving up your citizenship to your home country, but once you apply for citizenship in Russia, your original citizenship may be cancelled.
