London FTSE, being one of the financial centres of the world, (NYSE, Nikkei, etc.) have increased volume of trading bringing about economies of scale, hence lower fees.

The trust fees are wholly incurred for transaction costs and nothing else.

Additionally, the infrastructure and range and numbers of workers in addition makes for the shortfall (I'm speculating here).
