Maybe not - Christians, for example, only ever marry until death parts them. So they believe that once you die, that's it for love, & most religions are OK with remarriage.

But there are other schools of thought. If love is eternal, what does it matter what today's world is like? If not, then go with whatever's the main belief, and hope that your partner agrees, I guess.

But I don't think that love is something you choose. That's only a hope that today's world tries to match, by pretending they feel more than is convenient. Love's not really that accommodating. It's more like adapting to a force. It's not really a pleasant choice, it's more about bringing out your strengths and weaknesses & being known. It's not about luck, or beauty, or wealth.

But you knew that. Who has time to cope with eternity when you have love to deal with? Besides, I know that one of my neighbours is seventy-five, and she says she's way too young to answer a question like that, so who can tell? : )

Thusfar Eternal is a subject beyond human explanation, humankinds lifespan is so short. As far as love being eternal, it is something we should all hope for. Everymans religion trys to explain eternity and love, but it all seems rather arrogant to me compared to the average humans lifespan. Love between the sexes, I think men and women do still love each other, but I am not going to say that any part of our existance is forever.

Love for perishable things cannot be eternal. However, we should not hate the perishables, which are born out of eternity, like the temporary formation of waves on the surface of ocean

eternal is very very subjective term...it may be eternal to people who are involved in the relationship but others might forget about it in days... the phenomenal love stories in some part of teh world are not even known in other parts... if you love someone truely then it will be surely eternal...

No.
Not in Today's world.
It is only a part of our life.
Gaining self popularity and wealth seems to be eternal!
I regret to say this. but this is the truth.
