Others include:
7-10 split,
double wood (4,7,6,10 pins left),
all the way: finishing a game from any point with nothing but strikes,
apple: 1) Bowling ball; 2) bowler who fails to come through in a clutch situation,
Baby ball, Baby the ball: Too delicate, not enough emphasis on delivering the ball with authority,
Beer frame: In team play, when all players strike, the one who doesn¹t must treat (usually liquid refreshments). May also be the low scorer in a designated frame (often the 7th frame),
Blowout: Downing all the pins but one,
Creeper: Slow ball,
and many more can be found below

"thank God for walls": a bad shot turns good because a pin ricochets of the sidewall.

Going to have to agree with turkey. Lane, ball, yes..but really should they even let someone into the alley ( provided one knows what an alley is..) if they are unfamilar with those terms?
( Not of course implying that you are said person!)
