You have bad credit and you want bad cellular service too? Avoid Nextel or anything Nextel related unless you're a fan of dropped calls, text messages not being delivered and poor reception.

The average for them is only $200 w/bad credit! That's the lowest of all the cell companies. When I worked for At&t Wireless before they merged with Cingular, the deposit for bad credit was $400 or $800 depending on how bad it actually was! I had applied for Nextel last month online, through inphonic wireless..(an online dealer), and was approved with a zero! I didn't purchase my phone right away though, as I changed my mind. About a month later, I got a letter from Nextel stating that I'd have to pay a $200 dep for service, and that stood for 30 more days. How rude!!!! Had I completed the activation right when I was on Inphonic's site, I would have got the ZERO deposit, but I didn't because I didn't have enough to pay for the phone at the time. =( Anyhow....to make a long story short....even with my BAD @$$ credit....I went to T-Mobile, and they approved me right off the bat...2 lines ZERO deposit, plus I got a free phone!! You can't beat that! T-Mobile will approve ANYBODY!!! So, if you get a deposit with Sprint/Nextel...head over to T-Mobile! Good Luck!!! =)

I dont know about nextel deposits
Sprint is usually 125 or at most 250 with a spending limit of 125 (which means if your bill goes over 125$, your phone will get shut off until you can pay the bill)
Cingular is 0,150,200,250,300,500 and 750 deposits with no spending limits
Verizon is up to 500 i believe with no spending limit
Keep in mind you get what you pay for with sprint(limited coverage, no free roaming and plenty of bill problems)
And the more times you run your credit with different carriers, the lower your score goes!
I personally carry verizon and have had no problems.
If you cant afford the deposits for nextel, try boost mobile ( pre-paid nextel)
I personally dont know anything about them except what is on the TV

If you have bad credit, you will mostly qualify for a spending limit account which requires a deposit from 50.00 bucks to 250.00 at the highest. I would say the average I see is from 100.00-150.00. Its alot easier to get into then when I first started a few years ago. Id see people paying out 1000 bucks for a deposit!

It will probably be 150. People who come in who need deposits and buy nextel phones tend to average this amount.
