I am an old man and in my experience the answer is yes.
I lived through the sexual revolution of the 60's, the Disco period of the 70's, the death and dying days of the 80's, the Who Gives A Good F**k of the 90's and am still around for the 2000 plus.
In every decade, under every circumstance, gay men - I can't speak for gay women - had sex every chance they got. Sometimes up to three or four partners (or more!) each and every day.
Bath houses, house parties, parks, T rooms, libraries, malls - well - you get the idea.
Straight people thought they were really tearing it up if they had an affair with one person!
Yes. Gay people are more promiscuous than straight people.
Of course, someone will disagree with me.
That's cool, but I know what I know.

I suppose it depends on who you talk to.Some straight guys are as promiscuous as gay guys.I knew some straight guys who would actually have little games they would play targeted at how many ladies they could have sex with in a week.Who ever had the most sex with the highest number of ladies wins.And then of course there is the constant need for half naked posters of big breasted women to be hung in many car repair stations and sexually suggestive ads on TV targeted to straight men and if you check on HBO, Showtime, Cinemax, and Starz you will find many adult programs of adult content at late night hours with lots of female nudity that is directed for straight men.
Straight men can be pretty darn promiscuous when you think about it.And when you look hard into the gay community and find those really promiscuous gay guys I guarantee that you will find an equal number of straight men with the same tendencies only directed differently.
Personally, I have been with the same partner for four years.I have never done anything outside of our monogamous relationship.When we don't have sex I go without sex.And I have no problem going without.Because I don't "NEED" to have sex to be happy.
Promiscuity is just a direct way of saying that someone has a sexual addiction.And that is something that is not based on what sexuality you are.It is a psychological disorder of addiction.Much like alcohol addiction.

Hello!! :o) Yes - generally speaking - gay people are more promiscuous than straight. But that's not always true. I'm gay and I haven't had sex [by choice] for almost 10 years now. [And I'm not as unusual as some might think] That said... and although this in no way excuses promiscuous behavior - I think the fact that gay people haven't been able to marry is one of the reasons many of them have been [and still are] promiscuous. Marriage is the great anchor. It forces one to behave. It's one of the reason I think legalizing gay marriage MIGHT prove beneficial to ALL of society. Maybe. Craig!! :o)

I think in general that men are more promiscuous whether they are gay or not, but what does that mean for lesbians? I have no idea. All I know for sure is that I haven't had sex for over nine months and I don't miss it that much. To me it's more about love than sex. I say good day.

I'd say no. With all the children born out of wedlock and mothers having children by multiple fathers, the divorce rate and STD's, I'd have to say promiscuity is a human problem, not a gay one.

I would have said "yes" in an earlier time, and my reason would be that we don't have the concerns of reproduction, etc, and the sex drives of men are stronger and it is easier to find willing partners.
HOWEVER, I work with mostly heterosexuals now and they are VERY promiscuous and having tons of sex with multiple partners. I hear stories galore, especially from the women. So I think the stereotyping has evened out these days.

yes and no.
in the good ol' days certainly they were,and for the past 25 years straight/bi/gay/ you label it all have been very promiscuous thus why I've been abstinent.
however the overall gay/g0y/bi/lesbian adults of today have been far far less active in the past few years,where as the straights so called have run rampant with their sexual play.

You, or someone like you, asks this question about once a day. I can only assume you are envious of the idea that Gays do nothing all day long except have glorious, roll in the gutter sex. IF you are so f*cking curious, try it instead of wasting your and our time by typing stupid questions. Or perhaps that is all you can do..ask questions instead of getting any???
