i think thats very true i have a very good taste in friends and we do very bad things together which are fun!

what IS good taste? It's all a matter of opinion, isn't it? how do you define a "bad" life? This could refer to a number of different things. Most likely money and power though, when most people know that's not what counts in the end. but yeh.

good taste in how? is it material or social? good taste shouldn't necessarily lead to a bad life though. not unless an act is excused to be "good" thus making a "bad life" doesn't seem like saying: i did ___ and i have a bad life.
i don't agree with him. bad taste on its contrasts doesn't even necessary lead to a good life. it isn't even that relevant!

Not sure - he sounds apologetic, as though he may have thought it true at one time, but regretted believing it in the end.
It doesn't ring true to me, because good taste varies from person to person. Just like everyone thinks they're a good driver.

MMMm maybe he's talking about how he followed the "trends" which happen to be "good taste" and that led him to lead a bad life where he didn't choose for himself.. ha. it's a tricky quote. Philosophy is awesome.. you question a lot of things :) pretty awesome:)
